hotel saint cecilia

The last stop during my trip to Austin was a visit to the new Hotel Saint Cecilia, which opened last December. This place has a great, kitschy theme, featuring tons of original, vintage pieces (check out the 500-pound original bear claw bathtub!) mixed with new, hip decor. Kim over at Desire to Inspire, one of my favorite interiors blogs, was so kind as to post these on her site as well.

Hi Jackie -
First, can I just say I subscribe to about 80+ design/decorating blogs and when I saw your photos of the Hotel Saint Cecilia this evening, I got goose bumps! Wow! Those images are truly stunning, especially on the hime page of the site. There is an amazing contrast between boldness and serenity in those photos. This literally would be my dream home and you captured it perfectly. Great job!!
Cheers. Sorry about all of the !!!,
Andrea
P.S. Don’t wait too long to return to Austin

Thanks, Andrea! I too love the decor of this place. The owner of the property did it all herself and she certainly has a great eye for design. And don’t worry–I have way too many fond memories of Austin to not be returning very soon!

Hi Jackie -
Just a quick note to let you know I recently started a blog dedicated to interior design and vintage and modern real estate (which will be featured frequently as soon as I take my upcoming RE exam) and I included your photos of Hotel Saint Cecilia in my very first post! Please check out House of Slappy when you have a moment. I’m trying to get my subscriptions and readership up, but if you shoot more fantastic hotels or interiors you would like to share, please let me know and I’ll link to your page again.
Cheers,
Andrea Roe
