¡Viva la Tierra!

gottierra.jpgI still kind of can’t believe that I got to go to Patagonia earlier this year. The weird side effect has been that virtually nothing else seems to get my dander up the same way since. The New York skyline? Psh. The Mediterranean Sea? Meh. South Beach? Ho-hum. I guess I’ll just stay home and stare at this page featuring Tierra Patagonia in the May issue of Robb Report instead.

Chile Power

Defined by its vast landscapes and violent weather, Patagonia demands its visitors arrive with a sense of adventure. For adventurers who prefer a luxury resort to a windrattled tent, Chile’s new Tierra Patagonia Hotel & Spa, which opened in December just outside Torres del Paine National Park, is a welcome addition to the ends of the Earth.

Built into a gentle slope overlooking Lake Sarmiento, Tierra Patagonia’s sweeping main structure has drawn comparisons to a bird’s wing, a windblown sand dune, and even a spaceship. Inside, guests find a cathedral-like space of wood paneling, with oversize windows that perfectly frame the distant Paine Massif mountain range. Forty minimalist guest rooms feature rock sculptures, woven rugs, and freestanding soaking tubs.

Following a daylong hike to Torres del Paine’s iconic towers or a horseback ride through the lenga forest, Tierra Patagonia’s UMA spa is a sight for sore eyes and legs. The facility includes a swimming pool and hot tub, and specializes in muscle-soothing massage therapies aimed at recuperating the body in time for tomorrow’s adventure. —Jackie Caradonio

Excellent way of describing, and nice piece of writing to
take data on the topic of my presentation focus, which i am going to deliver in academy.
