Our cross-country travels brought us to yet another destination we may have never otherwise had the opportunity to see. Once the most polluted riverfront in the country, the portion of the Tennessee River that runs through downtown Chattanooga has flourished in recent years in large part due to the new Hunter Museum of Art addition. John briefly worked on this project at the beginning of his employment with Randall Stout Architects and it was a surreal experience to walk through the galleries of something he only until then knew in terms of blueprints and 3-D renderings. The museum perches upon a cliff overlooking the newly revitalized river and its city, making for breathtaking scenery indeed.

We photographed a rental property in Malibu with an amazing view of the ocean. There is literally nothing but a few feet of sand and the Pacific from the edge of this house. Some of these images will run in the August/September issue of Vacation Home magazine.

MONTAGE Pool at Sunset

Took a nice weekend trip to photograph the lovely Montage Resort + Spa in Laguna Beach. The pool is fantastic. Makes the $18 cocktails taste like they are worth their weight in gold. Some of these shots will be featured in the summer 2008 issue of Luxury Resorts magazine, which comes out early May.

We photographed “Hollywood’s original brow maven” Valerie Sarnelle’s home for Luxury Home magazine back in September. Her bathroom was the focus of the spa issue for the magazine’s March issue. The lighting was so amazing in this bathroom, one can only imagine the stray hairs one could find on one’s brow. The final image ran with the story as well as on the cover.

We spent a week in Spain photographing the new Marqués de Riscal hotel in Elciego, Spain. Located in the Rioja wine region of the Basque lands, the town’s oldest winery recently opened a hotel designed by starchitect Frank Gehry. Adorned with ribbons of titanium in rose, gold and silver (to represent the red wine, bottle netting, and classic Marqués de Riscal label, respectively), the hotel is something of a marvel. A five-page feature ran in the October issue of Robb Report magazine. Photography and layout design by Jackie. Visit our flickr page created for this trip to see more photos of the Marqués de Riscal as well as the rest of our trip throughout the Spanish Basque lands.
